1. VIETNAM'S VINFAST TO BUILD $4 BLN ELECTRIC VEHICLE FACTORY IN U.S.

The unit of Vietnam's biggest conglomerate Vingroup-Vinfast, said it plans to have a total investment of $4 billion in its first U.S. factory complex in North Carolinato. And U.S. President Joe Biden said the VinFast investment, which will create more than 7,000 jobs. The plant's initial capacity will be 150,000 units per year

2. DRAM PRICE DROP FORECAST TO CONTINUE IN 2Q22 BY UP TO 5%

Average overall DRAM pricing in 2Q22 will drop by up to 5%, due to marginally higher buyer and seller inventories coupled with the demand for products such as PCs, laptops, and smart phones being influenced in the short-term by the Russian-Ukrainian war and high inflation weakening consumer purchasing power.

3. STMICROELECTRONICS ISSUES PRICE INCREASE NOTICE SINCE Q2.2022

STMicroelectronics said in the notice that semiconductor manufacturing continues to see supply constraints and increase in cost associated with raw materials at suppliers. They have chosen to pass those costs on to STMicroelectronics and STMicroelectronics have absorbed as much of that as possible, but can no longer sustain the current pricing. For these reasons, STMicroelectronics will increase prices for all product lines, including existing backlogs, in the second quarter of 2022.
