The report pointed out that Micron's share of the $51.6 billion global automotive semiconductor market was 3.9%, up 0.5% from 3.4% in 2020. Its share of the $46.8 billion global consumer semiconductor market in 2021 was 2.5%, down slightly from 2.8% in 2020. Its share of the $88.1 billion global smartphone semiconductor market in 2021 was 8.2%, down from 10.3% in 2020.

2. CHIP COMPANIES CUT FINANCIAL FORECASTS DUE TO WEAK PC DEMAND
The semiconductor boom is beginning to show signs of weakness, hit by a slump in personal computer sales and a weakening cryptocurrency market.
