1. ANALOG MARKET MOMENTUM TO CONTINUE THROUGHOUT 2022  

Market forecast of 12% growth in 2022 follows historic 30% jump in analog sales in 2021. Another year of double-digit market growth is expected for analog integrated circuits in 2022 after sales in this semiconductor category surged by an unprecedented 30% in 2021.

2. GLOBAL SEMICONDUCTOR MATERIALS MARKET REVENUE TOPS $64 BILLION IN 2021 

SEMI pointed out that wafer fabrication materials and packaging materials revenues in 2021 totaled $40.4 billion and $23.9 billion, respectively, for year-over-year increases of 15.5% and 16.5%. The silicon, wet chemicals, chemical-mechanical planarization (CMP), and photomask segments showed the strongest growth in the wafer fabrication materials market, while packaging materials market growth was largely driven by the organic substrates, leadframes, and bonding wire segments.

3. SEMTECH ISSUES PRICE INCREASE NOTICE 

Semtech said in the notice that semiconductor manufacturing continues to see supply constraints and increase in cost associated with raw materials at suppliers. They have chosen to pass those costs on to Semtech and Semtech have absorbed as much of that as possible, but can no longer sustain the current pricing. As a result, Semtech will increase the price of all new TVS orders after March 14, 2022.
